The Math and Science School Counseling Program offers many services.
All services are available to all students!
Academic
We take academics very seriously at Math and Science Magnet school. The school counselor is here to help if you have any academic concerns for your child. We are able to help by performing classroom observations, monitoring student progress, teaching students study and test taking skills, and much more.
Social/Emotional Skills
School counselors teach monthly classes to all students in the areas of social and emotional skills. Some topics include: conflict resolution, emotional regulation, bullying prevention, and character education. If you have concerns about your student's mental or social/emotional health, please reach out. School counselors also work with students individually or in small groups to teach social/emotional skills to help students be more successful at school.
Career Planning
Elementary school is the perfect time to explore the wide world of careers! The school counseling program at Math and Science provides many opportunities for students to explore a wide range of careers through guest speakers, career day activities, and classroom counseling lessons.
MidSouth Health Systems School Based Services
Math and Science is very fortunate to have a wonderful therapist and case manager from MidSouth Health Systems on site to serve students who have more complex mental health needs.
